Bruce Osborn - Japan

Bruce Osborn was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. After graduating from the Un. of the Pacific with a BA in Studio Art, he studied photography at the Art Center College of Design. His professional career began as a staff photographer and photo editor at the Phonographic Record Magazine along with freelance work in the music industry. In 1980, he had an opportunity to do a photo exhibition in Japan which had an overwhelming response. As a good result of the show he made many new contacts, Bruce and his wife Yoshiko decided to relocate to Tokyo where they continue to be based. Bruce's photos can be seen a number of well-known publications and advertisements both in Japan and overseas. He has received a number of awards for his work and has published several photo books. Exhibitions including the 21 Century Museum of Contemporary Art (Kanazawa), The Children's Museum (Boston), and Yamanashi Art Museum (Kofu City). In addition to photography, Bruce also shoots and directs TV commercials and music videos.

The most extensive collection is the photo series on Japanese Parents and Children, known as OYAKO. In 2003, Bruce and his wife created the Oyako Day social action and in 2014, a documentary film was produced, featuring Bruce, and the OYAKO Project.

Chai Kok Leong - Malaysia

A wedding and portrait photographer who runs Demomentz Studio, is a professional member of the Wedding Portrait Photographers Asia (WPPAsia) and also a qualified member of the Master Photographer Association (MPA) of United Kingdom since 2010.

Kok Leong was appointed as the ambassador of WPPAsia since 2011. Kok Leong has won himself numerous awards from MPA Far East Print Competition in 2010, WPPA Print Competition 2010, 2011 and 2012. He also is the winner of WPPM best print of the year 2012.

In 2013, Kok Leong was certified as a Craftsmanship of WPPAsia, which carries the title CWPPA.

In 2014, he was awarded as one of the top 10 photographers of WPPAsia.

2015, Kok Leong is appointed as the director of WPPAsia International, and he is now actively giving photography seminars and workshops organised by photography societies and WPPAsia.

Even Kok Leong now actively is shooting but he believes that educating and sharing will improve the skills and the lifestyle of the professional photographers.

Daniel Ooi - Malaysia

In the saturated photography industry of today, it is a must for aspiring professional photographers to find a point of differentiation, to stand out from the rest. ‘Be Yourself, Create Uniqueness’ is the inspiration behind Daniel Ooi, the owner and principal photographer of Daniel Ooi Fine Art Gallery, in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

He definitely walks his talk as an appointed State Liaison of the Nikon Club Malaysia as well as the WPPM Johore Ambassador, Daniel has received numerous awards for his photographic works since 2010.

He has also been honoured with the prestigious Licentiate from the Masters Photographers Association, United Kingdom.

James Tan - Singapore

James is one of the top printmakers in the Far East, being highly sought after by international artists and photographers. His other clienteles include Government organizations, MNCs, Art Galleries, Camera brands like Leica, Canon, etc..

Starting out in 2002 as an apprentice in a commercial photography studio, James quickly rose through the ranks to be formally promoted to a full fledge commercial photographer thru peer recognition.

He became an Associate in the Master Photographers Association by way of double promotion in architectural photography in 2007 and in 2 years was awarded MPA’s Fellowship Rank as the first and only Certified Printmaker in the MPA, a special honor created for him in recognition of his abilities and contribution.

His current role is the MPA deputy ambassador and chief judge of qualifications for the Far East region, helping to maintain and improve the quality of photographers through strict and careful guidance to its members and potential candidates on image making and business practices.

Currently, apart from making prints, he has taught printing in NTU, as well as being a print and color management consultant for various printing companies, galleries and institutions.

Lena Ooi - Malaysia

Leno Ooi chanced upon photography after trying out dozens of occupations, and it turns out he is meant for his industry after all. A photographer of more than 20 years, he is the founder who are started

Destino Bridal Gallery, one of the top bridal galleries in Malaysia, showcasing a different artistic side of wedding photography at its best.

3 times WPPA back to back Photographer of the Year, WPPI Master, MPA multi award winner, Leno continues to strive further, orchestrating a creative photography team that creates beautiful out of the world masterpiece for newlyweds who seeks more than just a typical wedding photo.

Z Han - Malaysia

Born 1991, award winning photographer Z Han is the youngest Craftsmanship member of WPPA. He found his flair for photography in the age of 21 and managed to get an apprenticeship under veteran photographer - Prince Ho while he first started out. This has later on became a major influence in his photography journey and the reason for a good foundation to obtain his first qualification of Craftsmanship WPPA.

In continuation, he has won his award for the Top 10 photographers during year 2014 and proudly labeled as WPPA Emerging talent during year 2015. In his work, a strong signature cinematic style can be sensed. He focuses a lot on lighting and composition as a technique to create his atmospheric photos. 

Although already well known for his unique style in his photos, Z Han doesn’t plan to stick with just a single style. For his future journey, he hopes that he would get more chances to explores a wider range of styles and technique to create more stunning photos for his audiences. 

Jonathan Ho - Singapore

When you forget your mobile phone but not your camera when you leave the house, you have an idea of what is important to you. This is what happened to Jonathan Ho multiple times after he bought his first Nikon Coolpix in 2001.

Jonathan always had a problem with short-lived hobbies, as do most men in their mid 20s. Photography however, refused to be forsaken. It was a revelation to him that this was here to stay and 15 years and counting is a strong testament to that.

Jonathan reveals another revelation he had mid-way through his continuing journey. Loving photography leads to buying more equipment. Loving your subject leads to great images.

With a solid background in photography and lighting theory and 15 years of field experience as a professional wedding photographer, his developed style is romantic and emotional, always real but never superfluous. Jonathan achieved the coveted FMPA qualification in 2014 and was promptly promoted to Judge for Far East Qualifications.

He has shot over 500 couples in 20 countries and has preserved their most precious memories even though he has forgotten the names of some of them. We appreciate his honesty about his memory, as well as in his images.

Mathew Tan - Singapore

20 over years of photography has given Matthew the experience to combine techniques and moments together.

Matthew’s forte is in the art of posing and lighting and creating fine art in a fun and creative photos for his clients.

Matthew loves to photograph families, telling their stories of strong family bond by personifying their heartfelt emotions.

Matthew has won more than 90 national and international awards. He was named “Overseas MPA Wedding Photographer of the Year” in 1998, 2002 and 2005 (Contemporary Wedding) and 2009 (Contemporary and Classical Wedding), an international acclaimed competition where photographers from across the world vie for the title.

Matthew was also featured in the local tv in 2008 and 2009.

Matthew is often invited as a judge in competition and grades photography qualification. He is currently a committee member of WPC (World Photographic Cup) panel of judges.

Tan Eng Howe - Singapore

Eng Howe is a commercial portrait photographer based in Singapore. He has been shooting professionally for more than 20 years ago and has worked with a huge variety of subjects. His experience & unique vision has earned him Master Photographer status. His works are often characterized by his vivid imagination & intimate reference to his subject’s personality. He is also passionate about capturing spontaneous & inspired moments.

Eng Howe is also a popular teacher & he considers it a blessing to be able to share the gift of photographic vision with his students. He currently also instructs & mentors many aspiring students of photography. His philosophy: "It's the eye of the photographer which makes the picture. The camera is the tool to document it. I love images that not only catches my eye, but also communicates & evokes a feeling.

Arthur Chen - Malaysia

Arthur Chen is the Publisher and Editor of Digital Camera Magazine Malaysia. He has been involved in photography since 1987 shooting from studio, fashion, underwater to commercial. He has also produce and direct numerous videos such as documentaries, features and MVs. Apart from creating contents, he has been invited to be a judge for several prominent photo competitions and TV reality shows.

Ryan Wong - Singapore

He is a very familar figure in the Master Photographers Association activities here in Singapore and a few other places across Asia. He is at the forefront of the organising of their workshops, seminars and awards ceremonies among many other activites and events.

Besides winning many accolades such as MPA Master Photographer of the Year, he is a very active advocate of copyright and photographic education.

Though a relatively late starter in the industry he learnt his trade well under many prominent masters, especially those specialising in people photography.
