Who is the World Photographic Cup?

The WPC was founded in 2013 as a cooperative effort by The Federation of European Photographers (FEP) and Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Its singular goal is to unite photographers in a spirit of friendship and cooperation. A Governing Committee has been created to conduct the ongoing affairs of the competition, also supported by the UAPP (United Asian Professional Photography). The brotherhood and sisterhood of photography is a bond that transcends language, culture, and geography. That’s the foundation behind the World Photographic Cup, an one of a kind international team competition.

Despite the recent difficulties due to the pandemic, the WPC has been held continuously every year, and we are pleased to announce that the WPC 2023, edition number 10 of this unique and inimitable competition is open.

WPC 2023 BREAKING NEWS

WPC 2023 WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT
WPC 2023 Winners’ Announcement will be held in Singapore, on Friday March 17, 2023.

The event is in cooperation with the Singapore Photographic & Digital Imaging Trade Association. SPDA has established a task force as the WPC 2023 Organizing Committee. Mr George Lin, President of the SPDA said “we are most delighted to have the opportunity to host the 10th edition of the Prestigious World Photographic Cup in Singapore and we look forward to welcoming WPC winners, WPC governing committee, photographers, sponsors and friends of our industry to join us in our sunny, tropical island!”

Beyond the announcement, the WPC program in Singapore will include a guided city tour, a gala dinner (March 17), meetings and printed exhibitions of the winning pictures (March 18). WPC delegates will also have the chance to visit the Electronic Consumer Fair (The IT Show is scheduled on 16-19 March 2023).

WPC 2023 UP AND RUNNING

The WPC 2023 round is up and running. The edition that completes the first decade of uninterrupted competition is open and has already seen 24 national teams registered, so far. Discover the WPC Teams 2023 HERE.

While the WPC secretariat will be closed for a short summer break from tomorrow, August 12, to August 21, the WPC 2023 competition will remain open for registration. Team Captains - of teams not regitered so far - can apply HERE through the national teams registration form. Deadline for entries: October 15.

The finalists will be announced, as every year, live online, at Imaging USA (Jan 22 – 24, 2023 | Nashville, TN).

The WPC recalls that two categories have been split this year (portrait and nature), bringing to 8 the total number of photographic specializations in which the teams are called to participate. It will be important to visit the dedicated categories page where you will find a detailed description that we are sure will help the team captains to select the best images.

Singapore Photographic & Digital Imaging Trade Association

The Singapore Photographic & Digital Imaging Trade Association started way back in the end of the 19th Century and flourished at the turn of the century. After World War II, the photographic industry resumed its activity and sees photo equipment businesses and photo studios began to bloom. It has since progressed from an individual association in 1960 till today a government-recognized trade association.
